hi i'm mark cleghorn. a uk based photographer. shooting with a young couple today. using the ezybounce card. a controllable light modifier for a speed light. the ezybounce is a compact collapsible accessory, which allows me to change and redirect flash coming from the speed light into the direction i want. if your a photographer having to work in difficult situations. it's always hard to get away from direct light going towards the subjects. so a bounce card is pretty much an essential tool for any photographer, to redirect light and soften shadows. the ezybounce is simple to attach via the silicon strap.
and then of course its the adjustable panels that make this quite a special bounce card in the world of speed light accessories. in the first location; a beautiful park with all the fall colours we have going on here. i was using the ezybounce in a traditional way. just as a bounce card. which lifts the shadow information and adds the catch light into the eyes. throughout the shoot i'm starting to change the direction of the flash. as well as the power of the flash. as well as redirecting the different panels of the ezybounce. to create a bit more of a flash looking image.
to add a difference between a basic photograph and something with a little more image impact. the restaurant location brings the scenario of a nightmare to most flash photographers. because it had high ceilings that where coloured purple. if we were trying to bounce light of that of course it would be a nightmare. and that is what makes the ezybounce a game changer. because it allows you not only to bounce the light off the white panels. but then to be able to redirect it in a controllable way onto the subject. don't forget the ezybounce is way more than a basic bounce card. because the adjustable panels allow us to shape the light in a direction we want it to go.
as well as obviously adding in the likes of gels to create better images with on camera flash. so whether you are shooting a family party or shooting a wedding like me. the speed light is an essential tool to illuminate those shadows we said. the ezybounce is a simple collapsible tool for us. to pretty much all us to manipulate that speed light where ever we are. for me the ezybounce is in two places. it's either going to be in my bag or its going to be on my flash.
